Rationale for term overview

Term 1

For term 1, we focused on the theme "Food" as it is something that children can easily relate to. In addition, we hope to help children foster a better understanding of the different types of food groups, food from different cultures and food production processes.

Nursery 1 children had their first attempt in making a fruit salad.

The Nursery 2 children found out more about our local food and learnt to appreciate food from cultures.

Kindergarten 1 children learnt ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle and a balanced diet.

The Kindergarten 2 children discovered where does their food come from.

Term 2

In term 2, the teachers taught the children about man made and natural environments. They also shared how to respect and protect the environment which they live in with the little ones.

The Nursery 1 children learnt about weather topics such rainy and sunny days

Nursery 2 found out more about the different people and places that they may see in their neighbourhoods.

The Kindergarten 1 children learnt about the importance of recycling and how they can help to reduce waste.
